Old German Boma
Bagamoyo city is an old settlement and was once one of the most important trading ports on the East African coast. Trade goods were first fish, salt and rubber and in the first half of the 19th century for ivory and the slaves. The Kaole ruins nearby are the remains of two mosques and 30 graves from the 13th century.Old german boma in Bagamoyo, when Tanzania was a german colony... Hanging Place
The hanging place of Bagamoyo used to be the location of a big tree where revolters against the 19th century German rule of the area and abolishment of slave trade were hanged, most of whom were supporters of the Abushiri Rebellion. The tree no longer exists, but in its place is a monument built in the 20th century by the government of Tanzania to demarcate its location.

kaole ruins
The Kaole Ruins include the remains of a 13th century mosque, which is one of the oldest in the whole of East Africa. It was built during the time of the Sultan of Kilwa who also held power over coastal trade, and long before Bagamoyo had earned any authority.The kaole ruins is a site that holds the remains of the first settlement of the arab foreigners in Bagamoyo as well as an archaeological remains excavation site. Some of the structures at the site include houses, mosques, water wells and graves of the foreigners that died there.

Holy Ghost Church
Holy Ghost Mission is located in Bagamoyo, Tanzania. The pioneer mission was established by the Holy Ghost Fathers. The original Holy Ghost Church, built in 1872, is reportedly the oldest church on the mainland of East Africa, while the new church was built 1910–1914.
